ASHRAE Regina Chapter 50th Anniversary Celebration

Our monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month. Meetings begin at 5:15 PM with a pre-dinner technical session that starts at 5:45 PM.

On the evening of March 27th last, at the Royal Regina Golf Clubhouse, the Regina Chapter of ASHRAE celebrated our 50th anniversary.  The function was very well attended, with out-of-town dignitaries, past presidents, and most of our current local membership.

Tom Watson of Staunton Virginia (ASHRAE Society President) congratulated the Chapter on behalf of Society, and Kevin Marple of Portland Oregon (ASHRAE District Regional Chairman) and Bill Dean of Saskatoon (Society Director at Large) joined in the congratulatory celebration.

It was good to see so many past presidents out : Trevor Harle, Alex Sojonky, Peter Hughes, Bob England, Carol Chernick-Smith, Bill Wright, Murdock MacPherson, Grant Dawson, Neil Paskewitz, Jack Lyons, Ray Sieber, Rob Craddock, Shawn Wedewer, Ted Cooke, Greg Fluter, Heric Holmes, Jason Danyliw, and Carla Spriggs.

It was also great to see some old Regina Chapter stalwarts like Bill Craddock and Don Bell.

Ted Cooke did a great job warming over Jerry Boulanger’s “Saskatchewan” presentation from the 2010 CRC, throwing in a few twists of his own.  Ted would have received a standing ovation had everyone not been unable to stand up from being over-full due to the great meal provided by the Royal Regina.

I think a good time was had by all, judging from the many smiling faces in the photographs.  Rob Craddock and his committee did a great job organizing the event.  I can hardly wait for the 60th anniversary golden jubillee in 2023!
